Jimmy Fallon Talks Gearing Up For The Emmys

Jimmy Fallon is just weeks away from hosting the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards on NBC and at Sunday night’s Teen Choice Awards, he told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman that he is ready to take on his biggest gig yet.

“I’ve got my tux all ready to go,” Jimmy said. “It’s in the bag, I’m ready to go.”

Although normally in New York, where he tapes “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” the star stopped by the 2010 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, where he was nominated for Choice Comedian. While there, he told Laura he planned to glean some Emmy tips from Katy Perry, who hosted the event with the boys from “Glee.”

“I’m gonna get some tips from her,” Jimmy joked. “Hopefully we don’t wear the same dress.”

The “Saturday Night Live” alum said he began writing for his Emmy gig immediately after he was approached to host and he came to a meeting with an abundance of material.

“We wrote it all out and they’re like, ‘OK, we have to have room to give out awards too,’” Jimmy told Laura of the response he got to his plans. “It’s not the Jimmy Fallon show, apparently. It’s the Emmys!”

Jimmy added that he’ll be rehearsing the show in his abode until the big event.

“I’ll be hosting an awards show in my apartment for the next 14 days,” he said. “So far no one has RSVP’d yet, but I’m sure a lot of people can come.”

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards air live on NBC on Sunday, August 29th, at 8 PM ET/ 5 PM PT.

Before the big show, Access Hollywood’s own Billy Bush and Maria Menounos – along with Nate Berkus, will host NBC’s 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards Red Carpet Special, live at 4 PM PT from the Nokia Theater at LA Live.
