Jimmy Kimmel Denies Involvement In Dennis Quaid Meltdown Video

He brought us “Worst Twerk Fail EVER” and “Epic #SochiFail: Wolf in my hall,” but Jimmy Kimmel says he wasn’t behind Dennis Quaid’s movie set meltdown.

“I watched that video last night about 14 times,” Jimmy said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday night. “Although my favorite part was this: ‘I can’t even get a line out with Dopey the D**k whispering in my ear.’ For the next eight years, I’m planning to call everyone Dopey the D**k. I might have a T-shirt printed up.”

The late night host said that after repeatedly watching the clip and laughing, he was surprised to find out people assumed it was one of his pranks.

“When I woke up this morning, I was being blamed for it. There are two-dozen articles online, thousands of comments, suggesting that this is a prank video and I am responsible for it,” he said. “I have to say, it’s disappointing. Because you play like 50 pranks and all of a sudden people don’t trust you anymore.”

He may not be the mastermind behind the video, but Jimmy used Dennis’ expletive-heavy tirade as an opportunity to get some laughs.

“Did you ever consider that maybe Dennis was doing voiceover for a new cartoon? That’s right! He’s playing Dennis Duck,” he said. “We promised we’d get to the bottom of this Dennis Quaid video controversy. The truth is, the reason Dennis released that video is to promote his new children’s book, ‘Dopey the D**k.’ I read it to my daughter last night.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jimmy’s name got brought into the Dennis-meltdown mix after a Reddit user reportedly commented that he works for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and the whole thing was just a prank.

Dennis has shown off his pranking skills in the past, teaming up with Ellen DeGeneres for a series of (not-so-expletive-filled) gag sketches over the years.
