Joan Rivers On CNN Walkout: It Was Not Staged!

Joan Rivers’ CNN walkout was no stunt, at least according to the 81-year-old comedy legend.

Joan appeared on Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday, where she told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover that her exit following a series of pointed questions from CNN’s Fredericka Whitfield on Saturday was legit.

“Oh no, no, no, no, no!” the comedian said when asked of the headline-making exit was staged. “Fifty years in the business, this is the first time I’ve ever walked off.”

Joan said CNN should not have selected Fredericka for the interview.

“I feel sorry for her because I think she should not have been doing a comedy interview, but I really did get mad. I mean, you don’t say to Oscar Pistorius, ‘When you killed your girlfriend were you hopping mad?’ I mean it’s all stupid!” Joan joked with Billy and Kit.

But has Joan spoken with Fredericka since her interview?

“I think she should send us money. We put her on the map,” she joked.

Joan’s new book, “Diary of a Mad Diva,” is available now.
