John Legend is one proud husband!
The singer’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, landed the coveted cover of Sports Illustrated’s 50thAnniversary Swimsuit Issue (along with models Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge) and John says he is over the moon for his longtime love.
“[We are] very excited about it,” John told Robin Roberts on Friday’s “Good Morning America.”
The “All of Me” crooner, 35, said he and Chrissy didn’t find out she’d be on the cover until Thursday afternoon, and her reaction to the news was priceless.
“She cried like a baby, she was so excited,” John said. “And it was a surprise because you never really know who’s going to be on the cover. There are all these beautiful women.”
John said Chrissy has been hoping to land the mag’s cover for a long time.
“She’s been in the issue for several years now and every year it’s been someone else,” he said. “And then this year, it was her.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, John and Chrissy tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at an estate on Lake Como in Italy, in September, after dating for six years.
Fellow model Brooklyn Decker acted as maid of honor, while friends of the couple (including Kanye West) also headed to the posh location for the wedding.
