Johnny Depp Lands Role In Transcendence (Casting Call)

Johnny Depp set to star in another film!

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor will take on the lead role in Wally Pfister’s upcoming film, “Transcendence,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Depp will play the role of a husband who gets sucked into en evil man-made computer.

He will be receiving $20 million for the role, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Pfister has also met with Noomi Rapace, who he is considering for the film’s lead female role and with James McAvoy and Tobey Maguire for the other male leads.

Christoph Waltz is also reportedly in the running for a supporting actor role.

Filming is to begin early next year.

In other leading man casting news, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Grant and Michael Fassbender have also landed upcoming roles.

Cooper is set to pair with Emma Stone in a new Cameron Crowe film, “Deep Tiki,” a film that combines love, war, and Hawaiian mythical folklore, according to Deadline.

Grant is also in the mix to star in an un-titled comedy directed by Marc Lawrence, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

And, Fassbender is set to be in a new movie based on video game franchise “Assassin’s Creed,” said The Hollywood Reporter.
