Johnny Depp Sends A Fan A Fedora

Despite a career that’s included roles as a pirate, a murderous barber and candy-making trickster Willie Wonka, the real-life Johnny Depp is apparently a trustworthy fellow.

Twelve-year-old Jack Taylor discovered this after an April meeting with Depp, who was shooting his new film “Public Enemies” on location in Oshkosh, Wisc.

In the ‘30s crime drama. Depp plays John Dillinger, a notorious Depression-era bank robber with a wardrobe to match.

Fascinated by the actor’s fedora, Taylor asked him to send it to him after the film wrapped, and sure enough, it arrived last week, according to the Oshkosh newspaper, The Northwestern.

But that wasn’t the end of the sweet meeting — the actor’s agent sent Taylor’s four siblings promotional items from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” In return, Taylor told The Northwestern he has enlisted his parents to help him work on a thank you note.
