Jon Hamm has successfully led the cast of AMC’s “Mad Men” through nearly five award-winning seasons and nailed supporting roles in films like “Bridesmaids” and Ben Affleck’s “The Town.”
Now, the 41-year-old star will finally get his chance to star as a leading man on the big screen, according to Deadline.com.
The six-time Emmy nominee is attached to play a sports agent in Disney’s upcoming “Million Dollar Arm” – a story based on real life sports agent J.B. Bernstein, who discovered professional MLB pitchers Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel by staging a reality show about the game of cricket in India, the website reports.
The screenplay was penned by Thomas McCarthy (“Win Win”) and Mayhem Pictures’ Gordon Gray and Mark Ciardi (“The Rookie,” “Secretariat”) will produce, along with Joe Roth and Palak Patel of Roth Films (“Snow White and the Huntsman”), Deadline reports.
“Million Dollar Arm” is set to commence shooting in the fall.
