Jon Voight Would Be ‘Delighted’ To Be Directed By Daughter Angelina Jolie

Jon Voight was on hand to support daughter Angelina Jolie at the Los Angeles premiere of her feature film directorial debut on Thursday, and the veteran actor told Access Hollywood he is “very proud” of his girl.

“Can you imagine? I’m a father whose daughter, first of all, is in this great business of ours, and is one of the great stars of this business,” he told Access at the “In the Land of Blood and Honey” premiere. “Then she writes a script from the beginning, and she produces it herself, and she directs it. Who does that?”

Jon said Angelina’s multi-faceted talents remind him of the legendary Clint Eastwood, who Angelina worked with for the 2008 thriller, “Changeling.”

“It’s like Clint, but he doesn’t write his stuff — of course, he writes his music,” Jon continued, referring to Clint’s work as the composer of many musical themes to his films. “I’m sure she was very inspired working with Clint and she [thought she] might try this, but she’s got a lot of courage to do it. I’m very excited.”

The proud dad said his faith in Angelina extends beyond family ties. He said he’d gladly take a role in a film directed by the 36-year-old star.

“I would love it, of course. I’m sure she’s terrific,” he told Access, when asked if he’d like to be directed by Angelina. “I’m delighted to work with her anytime I can.”

“In the Land of Blood and Honey” hits theaters on December 23.
