Jonah Hill’s High Hopes For ‘21 Jump Street’ Reboot; Will Johnny Depp Make A Cameo?

Jonah Hill thinks audiences will want to “jump – down on Jump Street” once again – and he’s hoping original TV series star Johnny Depp will too.

“I think we really love the premise of young looking cops going back to high school,” Jonah, who is starring in, writing and producing the reboot, told Access Hollywood at the “Megamind” junket.

The actor is also hoping the reboot will get some star power with a cameo from Depp.

“We wrote a cameo for [Johnny Depp,] so we hope he does it,” Jonah explained, telling Access the movie starts shooting “early next year.”

Before Jonah goes undercover, fans will get to see Jonah in his first serious role in “Moneyball,” which also stars Brad Pitt and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

“I was really lucky for my first dramatic movie to be with such great actors and such a great director,” he told Access. “To enter into the dramatic landscape, I think it was a real dream like situation to do it in.”

“Moneyball” is slated for release in Fall 2011, while his current animated movie, “Megamind,” hits theaters on Friday.
