Jordin Sparks & Jason Derulo Talk Split

Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo are opening up about their split.

Jordin appeared on the “Today” show, where she was asked about her relationship ending after nearly three years.

“I’m good, actually,” she told Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. “The funny thing is I read this quote the other day, actually no, it was yesterday, it said, ‘When something unexpected happens in your life or you think something bad happens, just say, plot twist! And move on.'”

Jordin’s candid comment was followed by a high-five from Hoda and a smile.

Jason offered up his side of the story during a Monday interview with Ryan Seacrest.

“I’m not one to throw my business out on the street, but I thought it was important because things are getting a little out of hand,” Jason said regarding rumors surrounding his breakup with Jordin on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest. “What happened… in a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons… There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that [and] that just weighed on our relationship over time. When you stop having more good times than bad times, it’s time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy.”

And according to Jason, he and Jordin are not on the best of terms.

“I wouldn’t say good terms,” he explained. “I’ll be lying if I said that, but it’s not a bad situation. There’s no bad blood. We didn’t end off on a weird way or a negative way. It’s not like we’re hitting each other up, like, ‘Hey, what are you doing today?'”

After news of the split broke last week, Jordin Tweeted, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
