Joss Stone Talks Reality Singing Shows & Tattoos That Won’t ‘Sag’

Singer and Grammy winner Joss Stone is back with a new album and says fans will hear a whole new sound from her.

The 25-year-old first made a splash in 2003 with her debut album, “The Soul Sessions” and she’s now about to release “The Soul Sessions Vol. 2.”

“It’s been 10 years,” the singer said on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live. “I’ve learned how to sing.”

Joss made her mark on the music industry prior to the reality TV singing competition boom, something she’s happy about.

“I love music and I love singing with other people… and I don’t see it as a competition at all, at all,” she told Kit Hoover and guest co-host Donny Deutsch. “They kind of make it into a competition. I think it’s just like sad, a little bit.”

She did commend reality TV shows for connecting fans with aspiring artists who might not have the chance to be heard.

“Other than that it’s great, because they get to be heard by millions of viewers,” she added.

The British beauty also showed Kit and Donny her collection of tattoos (one behind her ear, one on her hand and another on her foot), and explained that she has a rule when it comes to body art placement.

“I like to put them on places that aren’t going to sag,” she said with a laugh.

Joss, who appeared on Showtime’s “The Tudors” for two seasons, said she’s open to continuing her work in front of the camera. Kit even suggested that Joss be considered for the lead in the rumored Janis Joplin biopic.

“That would nice wouldn’t it,” she said of playing the iconic rock legend.

“The Soul Sessions Vol. 2” drops on July 31.
