Judge Blake Shelton Believes Country Singers Will Reign On Season 2 ‘The Voice’

Blake Shelton will return to his rotating judges’ throne tonight for the highly anticipated second season premiere of “The Voice,” and the Grammy nominee is excited about the potential for country music on this round of the reality competition show.

“There are some country singers that are really good,” Blake told People. “We had a few last year but we didn’t end up with a country singer in the final four.”

The “Honey Bee” crooner, who mentored pop singer Dia Frampton into the final four on the first season of the NBC singing competition, said country singers have made a strong showing in early rounds.

“I know anything can happen,” he said. “But I really believe in my heart that one of several country singers that we have on our show this year have a shot at winning the whole thing.”

Watch Blake, along with Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera, return to “The Voice” following the Super Bowl -– tonight on NBC.
