Judge Issues Arrest Warrant For Lindsay Lohan

An arrest warrant was issued for Lindsay Lohan on Thursday morning after the starlet did not appear for a mandatory probation hearing in Los Angeles.

Access Hollywood was inside the courtroom at the Beverly Hills Courthouse on Thursday, where Lindsay was a no-show because the starlet is still in France, where she was attending the Cannes Film Festival. The actress claims her passport was stolen, therefore making her unable to travel.

As a result of her missing the hearing, the judge has issued a arrest warrant for the actress and set her bail for $100,000. The judge went on to say that if Lindsay does post bail that she will be required to not drink alcohol and will be made to wear a SCRAM device to monitor her alcohol intake – along with random weekly drug testing.

There is no official word when Lindsay will return to LA or if she will be arrested when she lands, but following the hearing, her attorney told reporters that “anything is possible” at this point.

Lindsay might have been a no-show on Thursday, however, Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, was in attendance, but did not speak in court. Access asked Michael why Lindsay’s mother, Dina, was not in attendance, he shrugged his shoulders and said, “Don’t know.”

Following the hearing, Lindsay lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, spoke to reporters outside the courthouse.

“She’s an actress. She needed to go there to promote the movie. She intended to be back,” Holley said when asked why Lindsay went to Cannes.

“She has done 10 of the 13 classes she was ordered to do… it’s along the lines of most people in the alcohol program. The fact is she intended to be here today. She had a ticket to be here. Her passport was stolen, and as far as I’m concerned, she had a valid reason for not being here today,” her attorney continued. “She is in compliance with the program, which is the reason she has a good progress report. I would contend that she is in substantial compliance. Anybody else with 10 of 13 classes would be found in substantial compliance.”

The district attorney said in court that they want to see the 23-year-old’s plane ticket, to prove that she intended to return to LA for her hearing.

When asked if Lindsay would be arrested, her attorney said, “Under these circumstances, anything is possible.”

“I believe that the only thing that was stolen was her passport. I wasn’t aware of the fact she was partying on a yacht,” Chapman Holley responded when asked about reports the star was photographed yesterday on a yacht in France. “She’s a 23-year-old girl. Would I do that at my age? No.

“She needs to get back to LA so we can resolve this at the earliest possible time,” Lindsay’s lawyer continued. “She is taking it seriously. I was in contact with her yesterday and she frantically tried to get her passport and get here.”

Chapman Holley went on to suggest that the media’ scrutiny of Lindsay could have influenced the judge’s actions today.

“I can’t help but believe that part of the judge’s impetus for doing this, is all of this,” she said, referring the army of reporters at the press conference. “The girl is on Web sties all the time, and it can’t help but be a part of the decision making process. We’ll come to court and we’ll address these concerns.”

Michael’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, also spoke to reporters.

“We consider today a win. These were conditions that perhaps should’ve been ordered all along. We ask that Lindsay not be ordered to jail, but rather to [rehab]. Someone does have to want to go to rehab – we hope that Lindsay will get to that point. Michael is very concerned. He’s a concerned parent,” Bloom told reporters. “Everyone has to choose who you spend your time with… if you’re over 18, you’re responsible for your own choices. Michael has seen Lindsay in the last month with his own two eyes. She did not look the way a father would like her to look. He’s seen all the photographs and video… to many people she’s a celebrity, this is his beloved daughter and it’s his number one priority to protect her… I don’t believe she received a harsher punishment because she’s a celebrity. Michael is disappointed that Lindsay was not able to make it today.”
