Julia Roberts Bringing Heartwarming Batkid Story To Theaters

The heartwarming real-life Batkid story is coming to the big screen with Julia Roberts set to produce and star, according to Variety.

5-year-old leukemia patient Miles Scott captured the hearts of people worldwide in November 2013, when San Francisco was transformed into Gotham City to bring his Make-A-Wish dream to life.

The pint-sized superhero even caught the attention of celebrities and politicians, including “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” star Ben Affleck and President Obama.

A documentary titled “Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard around the World” premiered on Saturday at the Slamdance Film Festival. The doc’s director, Dana Nachman, will also executive produce the feature film.

“It’s thrilling to me that Ms. Roberts and her team watched our film and were so moved by it that they want to dedicate their time and creative capital to make sure the widest audience possible will know and love Miles’ story and the spirit of this intimate special event that went global, as much as we do,” Nachman told Variety.
