Julia Roberts is teaming up once again with her “Eat, Pray, Love” director Ryan Murphy movie for a new film for HBO.
The actress will star in the adaption of Larry Kramer’s Tony Award-winning play, “The Normal Heart,” alongside “The Avengers” actor Mark Ruffalo, for HBO Films it was announced on Friday.
The project will also feature another Murphy favorite – Matt Bomer, who has appeared both in “Glee” and recently recorded an episode of the TV mogul’s NBC comedy, “The New Normal.”
The film follows Dr. Emma Brookner (Roberts), a paraplegic physician treating early HIV-AIDS patients in New York City in the early 1980s.
Ruffalo plays Ned Weeks, a gay man who witnesses the disease as it begins to hit the gay community.
Bomer will play a reporter named Felix Turner, who ends up in a relationship with Ruffalo’s character.
The film begins production later this year and is scheduled to premiere on the network in 2014.
