Julianne Hough, star of the upcoming “Footloose” reboot, recently finished filming another musical big screen project, “Rock of Ages,” alongside an impressive roster of A-listers, including Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
However, the bubbly blonde says there were more than just famous faces to ogle on the set.
“The experience on ‘Rock of Ages’ was utterly insane, crazy, completely unpredictable and we had monkeys on set,” Julianne told Access Hollywood at the “Footloose” junket in Newhall, Calif., on Monday. “I’m serious. Like literally everyday would be like, ‘Wait — we have a monkey on set? Wait — we have prostitutes? Wait we have… what is going on?’
“This is a crazy movie, so it was unpredictable, fun, hilarious and it was fantastic,” she added.
As for her megastar co-star Tom Cruise, Julianne said she and Tom are now buddies.
“You know, TC and I — we go back,” she said with a laugh. “No — he’s amazing. [A] really, really good guy. And Katie’s amazing. She came down [to the] set and [they’re] just really classy couple. They’re amazing.”
Julianne had quite the busy week – in addition to promoting “Footloose,” alongside co-star Kenny Wormald, the former “Dancing with the Stars” professional champ attended Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ wedding on Saturday with her boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest, and managed to earn the title of “best dressed” at the nuptials from Kathie Lee Gifford.
“I gotta tell you — if that dress was on anybody else I would have said the same thing,” Julianne said. “That dress was bad ass!
“It was from Decades, vintage and it was really cool,” she continued. “It had its own little bustle in the back so I’m like, ‘Hun, bustle my butt — fluff my butt,’ because I would sit on it. But it was so classy, it was so chic, I loved it. Thank you, Kathie Lee!”
As for the wedding, Julianne said the glamorous evening definitely lived up to the hype.
“It was fun,” she told Access. “It was really fun.”
