Justin Bieber Cited For Speeding, Reckless Maneuvering

Justin Bieber had a brush with the law on Friday morning.

The singer, 18, was pulled over by a California Highway Patrol officer on the southbound 101 Freeway in Los Angeles for speeding and reckless maneuvering, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

Bieber – who was driving his chrome Fisker Karma at the time — was issued a citation.

According to TMZ, LA City Councilman Dennis Zine witnessed Bieber’s reckless driving and called 911.

“Bieber was driving like a maniac. He was weaving in and out of traffic,” Zine reportedly told the website. “There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane.”

Zine, a former LAPD motor officer, said he would have given the Canadian singer more than just a citation.

“If I was on patrol, I would have arrested him for reckless driving,” he told TMZ. “I was going 60 [miles per hour] and he drove by me like he was in a rocket ship. He was a maniac.”

Scooter Braun, the singer’s manager, said Bieber was being chased by paparazzi, and downplayed the incident, telling TMZ Zine “is just a councilman looking for a headline.”

Reps for Bieber were not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access Hollywood on Friday.
