Justin Bieber: I Want To ‘Have Everyone Root For Me’

Justin Bieber wants to be more than a pop sensation – he wants to be a great artist.

In a new interview for the cover of Vanity Fair, the Biebs revealed he takes great inspiration from the King of Pop – Michael Jackson.

“Michael was able to reach audiences from young to old; he never limited himself. He was so broad, everybody loved him, and that’s what my goal is – to basically make people happy, to inspire them, and to have everyone root for me,” the teen sensation told the mag’s February issue.

The Biebs told the mag that he has taken a lot of inspiration from black music.

“Music is music, and I’m definitely influenced by Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men and people who were black artists – that’s what I like,” he said. “But I like their voices and I like how they entertain – it’s not about what color they are.”

He’s also a fan of The Beatles, and feels he can relate to them, MJ and Tupac Shakur, because of how his head works.

“I’m not normal. I think differently – my mind is always racing. I’m just… nuts. But I think the best ones probably are,” he told the mag.

Although he’s at the top of his game, Justin said he knows that some people want to see him fall.

“I think that people are just waiting for that time when I make a mistake and they’re gonna jump on it. There’s gonna be so many people that are gonna try to bring me down. There’s gonna be haters,” he said. “I’m just a regular person. I’m going to make mistakes… But I’ve got such a great family, such a great people surrounding me, that I know I’m not going to make a life-changing bad decision, as some people have.”
