Justin Bieber Investigated For Alleged Misdemeanor Battery

Justin Bieber’s alleged weekend scuffle with a photographer has been turned over to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office and is being investigated as a misdemeanor battery, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

On Tuesday, a rep from The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Access that the photographer involved filed a complaint against the 18-year-old star.

The matter is now in the hands of the D.A.‘s office, which will decide whether to pursue action against the star. The decision could take a few days.

A rep for Bieber still has no comment on the alleged incident, but over the weekend, the singer did Tweet,“gonna focus on the important stuff. the music.”

If charged and convicted, Bieber could face up to six months in jail for the alleged battery.

The “Boyfriend” singer won’t have any encounters with paparazzi stateside for some time as he told fans that he’s headed across the Atlantic.

“OFF TO EUROPE! PHASE 1 of operation secret concerts! lol. OSLO first stop. See u soon,” he Tweeted on Monday.
