Justin Theroux: Planning Surprise Wedding To Jennifer Aniston Wasn’t ‘Fun’

Justin Theroux doesn’t like keeping secrets – at least when it comes to getting married.

The “Leftovers” star told the New York Daily News on Friday that he didn’t exactly enjoy staying mum about his surprise wedding to Jennifer Aniston.

“I wouldn’t say it was fun to plan,” he said of the Aug. 5 ceremony, held at his and Jennifer’s Bel-Air home. “Part of the fun of planning a wedding is telling people, and we had to keep it under wraps.”

Justin and his longtime love may have missed out on sharing their pre-wedding excitement, but the Hollywood power couple did get to celebrate with their closest friends and family on the big day.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, guests at the intimate event reportedly included Jen’s “Friends” co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, along with Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, Howard Stern, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi, and John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, among others.

The actor and screenwriter met his now-wife in 2007, but the two didn’t start dating until they worked together on 2012’s “Wanderlust.” After a three-year, highly publicized engagement, he said he felt instantly relaxed after all was finally said and done.

“I noticed it almost immediately,” he said. “It was like your blood pressure goes down two PSI. It’s not like life is completely different. It’s a beautiful thing.”

Justin wasn’t the only one breathing a sigh of relief.

Access Hollywood caught up with a beaming Jen at the premiere of her comedy “She’s Funny That Way” on Aug. 19 – her first public appearance since tying the knot. The star, who had just returned from her and Justin’s “beautiful” Bora Bora honeymoon, told Access’ Liz Hernandez that keeping their special day private was worth the effort.
