K-Fed Shares Thoughts with ?Access? About Britney

Kevin Federline, husband of pop singer Britney Spears, spoke with Access Hollywood?s Tim Vincent on Wednesday afternoon, at Richard Branson?s ?Penny Awareness? event in New York.

Kevin rolled up in a penny-covered armored car (he was wearing his wedding band). His wife was not with him.

K-Fed was text messaging while on stage for the event. He then spoke to the crowd, exclaiming, “I love the penny? I?m here to save the penny? whooo!”

Kevin tells ?Access? that he has just finished his album and that he is in New York, “talking to people.” He was dressed in a nice black suit and sported very clean-looking hair. K-Fed explained to Tim that he likes to dress up for events like this one.

The following conversation took place between Tim and K-Fed:

Tim: So, what an entrance!

Kevin: What an entrance. I love it. I love New York. Power to the penny, power to the people? all that good stuff.

T: Does the penny really need saving?

K: I think it does. You know I think, it has a monumental value to it, you know, it’s gotta stick around. I remember when I was a kid we used to fill the jars up with pennies, you know. We’d save like 60 or 70 dollars. And when you’re a child, you know, and you get that kind of money after saving for 6 months, 7 months, throwing a bunch of pennies in a jar, you know, it pays off, it pays off. And I mean on top of that it’s out here and it’s giving back to these children that need it. You know, it’s like…why throw away money when you can give it to somebody.

T: Everyone’s talking about your entrance but also your sharp new look. What’s inspired this?

K: You know, I’m just out here doing my thing. I like to dress up, I like to do all that. Just ‘cause you see me sometimes in a wife-beater that’s my at-home look and my sweats, and you know I’m out in the golf course doing that thing. But, you know, there’s a time to dress up, there’s a place for everything, and here is the time and the place.

T: You’re gearing up for your new single “America’s Most Hated,” you nervous about that, when is it gonna come out?

K: It’s coming real soon. I just finished the album. I’m out here actually meeting with a bunch of people. It’s about to pop? big.

T: Now, are you a bit nervous about this at all because…

K: When I first got onstage I was little nervous… it’s my first time doing a charity event like this and having to actually stand up in front of a bunch of people and speak like this, but you know it’s good. It’s good for my mind, my soul, and like I said it’s for a good cause. You know, it’s wonderful.

T: You were very chic-ly texting somebody when you got out. Who was it?

K: Umm….I don’t wanna tell you.

T: Well, you told us before, it was your wife.

K: Of course, of course. Always.

T: What did you text?

K: I told her that I love her and I’ll see her soon.

T: Were you upset at all after “Dateline” that she was crying. You’ve said that before…

K: I’m not here to talk about that. I’m here, you know, to do this charity stuff for these kids and that’s what I’m here to do. My family is great if that’s what you’re asking. My family is wonderful, always. Virgin Mobile baby!

Sir Richard Branson was not at the event. Event organizers said his plane had mechanical problems.

Federline and Common Cents Policy Director Matthew Eggers were there to show their enthusiasm for the nostalgic coin by highlighting the value of the penny and being the first to sign the “Save the Penny” petition to be presented to lawmakers in Washington D.C.
