Kanye West has been named as a suspect in a misdemeanor battery probe in Beverly Hills.
“On Monday, January 13th at approximately 12:15 PM, the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to the 8800 block of Wilshire Blvd. regarding a Misdemeanor Battery that just occurred at the location,” the Beverly Hills Police Department said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Tuesday.
According to police, the alleged incident was witness by several individuals, but the rap star left before authorities arrived on the scene.

“The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses,” the statement continued. “Mr. West had left the location prior to Officers arrival. As of this writing, BHPD Detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation.”
A rep for West was unavailable for comment when contacted by Access on Tuesday.
Both West and wife-to-be Kim Kardashian have remained silent on Twitter since the alleged incident.
