Kanye West Remains In London Following Mother’s Death

Following the death of his mother, Kanye West remains in London, Access Hollywood has learned.

Despite reports to the contrary, Kanye never left London following the news his mother, Dr. Donda West, had died on Friday.

The rap superstar was en route to London when news broke that his mother died from possible complications related to a cosmetic surgery procedure.

Contrary to reports, Kanye will not be returning to the U.S. until Tuesday, which is the day of Donda’s funeral in her hometown of Oklahoma City.

He is currently trying to stay busy rehearsing for his upcoming tour.

Additionally, Access Hollywood has confirmed Kanye will not take the stage, as previously planned, during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show taping tonight in Hollywood.

“I think he was kind of in shock. His heart really wanted to do it. But we told him to be with his family,” Victoria’s Secret President & CEO Sharen Turney told Access.

Instead, Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas will step in to take his place.

Meanwhile, on Friday at Chicago State University, a private memorial service will be held for Dr. West, who taught English at the school for 30 years.

Access Hollywood has learned that weeks before her death, Kanye had urged his mother to work out with a trainer and get in shape, rather than undergo radical cosmetic surgery.

Legally embattled surgeon Dr. Jan Adams, who has come under fire since West’s death, performed the reported five-and-a-half hour breast reduction and tummy tuck on West and she was sent home shortly thereafter.

She died a day later. The LA Coroner’s office has said toxicology results from the autopsy will be released in five to six weeks.
