Kara DioGuardi: ‘Having A Lot of Sex’ In Hopes Of Getting Pregnant

Kara DioGuardi appears to be having a good time while she and her husband try to grow their family!

Access Hollywood caught up with the music producer/songwriter and star of the upcoming Bravo series, “Platinum Hit,” at a book signing for her new memoir, “A Helluva High Note,” on Tuesday night, where she dished on her mission to conceive.

“I’d like to have a baby,” she said when asked what she hopes to accomplish next.

“I’m trying to work that one out,” she explained. “I don’t know, I’ve been having a lot of sex, but it’s not working!”

Adding, “I’d like to succeed at that, if my damn body would get with the program.”

The 40-year-old former “American Idol” judge addressed her struggle to get pregnant in her memoir.

“I wanted a child and there was no way I could get pregnant under the stress of 18-hour work days and live TV,” she writes in “A Helluva High Note,” adding, “I had undergone three unsuccessful rounds of IVF during Season 9… Leaving was painful and there will always be a part of me that wanted to stay, but my desire to be in control of my destiny was larger than my need to be a household name.”

Kara married Mike McCuddy, a school teacher-turned-general contractor, in July 2009.

Her new Bravo series, “Platinum Hit,” also starring singer Jewel, premieres on May 30.
