Kendall Jenner recently made headlines for a host of modeling photos showing the 15-year-old in a tiny bikini, but the teen’s family is putting on a united front about the shoot.
“When you’re a model, you clearly have to show your body,” older sister Kim Kardashian told Access Hollywood at the junket for the upcoming season of the family’s reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” “They needed some portfolio pictures, and so that’s what they requested… It’s completely normal.”
Kendall’s father, Bruce Jenner, said that he does not think the pictures were “inappropriate whatsoever,” however, he was originally unaware of the stir they caused due to a family vacation in a remote area of the country.
“We go to my sister’s family’s ranch up in Wyoming… I come home and [I ask], ‘How’s everything going, honey?’ and she goes ‘Oh my God, the Kendall controversy!’” Bruce laughed. “Huh? There [were] no TVs up there, no nothing, we didn’t know.”
Kris Jenner, Kardashian family matriarch and Kendall’s mother, told Access she still doesn’t understand what all of the fuss was about.
“It’s just sort of ridiculous because you’re creating a look as a canvas — I mean, that’s what models do,” Kris said. “I think it was all just sort of a lot of nonsense for nothing.”
One thing’s for sure — the family is proud of Kendall’s endeavors.
“She looked gorgeous,” Kim gushed. “She’s not risque at all — I mean, she has no curves.”
“And we know risque in this family,” Bruce smiled.
The new season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” premieres on E! on August 22 at 10 PM.
