Kate Gosselin On Her ‘Dancing’ Debut: My Kids ‘Had Nothing But Good Stuff To Say’

Kate Gosselin may not be the early front-runner on the current season of “Dancing with the Stars,” but the reality mom’s most important critics are in her corner.

“They had nothing but good stuff to say, so that’s all I’m worried about, really,” Kate told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush of her brood’s reaction to her performance of the Viennese Waltz.

The only hitch? The show’s primetime schedule runs up against bedtime.

“Leah said, ‘Mommy, why do you have to dance so late?’” Kate told Billy.

While Kate is dividing her time between home and dancing up a storm in LA, the busy star said the work is worth it.

“I’m up against the hard spot of tabloids painting me one way or another and the whole experience of the last couple of years,” she said. “So I’d like to show people that I’m a mom first …but it’s OK to have fun sometimes.”

Still, Kate said that fun won’t include dating again — yet.

“There’s no time for that,” she told Billy. “When I can work it into my schedule, I’ll let you know.”

“It’s gotta be tough for you,” Billy responded.

“I’ve got a lot of issues, baggage,” Kate answered. “Anybody who’s strong enough to deal with it… come on!”
