Though Kate Gosselin split from husband Jon in 2009, having eight kids and a TV show has thrown a wrench into her love life.
Is the reality star finally ready to date again?
“Not yet. I mean, someday, maybe if that happens,” Kate told Access Hollywood in a new interview. “I don’t know with the eight. Can I leave them at home that time?”
The 39-year-old’s free time mainly consists of household chores at this point.
“I’m just making dinner and doing laundry still,” she said, adding that she does indeed want to date. “[I] absolutely [do], but it just hasn’t happened. I mean… it just feels so disappointing after all these years.”
The famous mom – whose kids are between 10 years old and 14, admitted she misses being in a relationship.
“I’m definitely lonely and that [part of my life] is definitely missing,” she told Access. “As time goes on it’s more so, and the kids are mentioning it more and more. To have a man, a male presence in the house, I just feel it would be so much more balanced – [for] the boys especially.
“But the kids see the strain of like taking care of the house and all the stuff that goes wrong on a daily basis, and that kind of stuff,” she added. “They see me baring that load by myself.”
As for whether Kate will attempt to meet beau online, the single mom said the idea scares her.
“I’m afraid of online dating. I can shop like nobody’s business online, but I feel like that’s where it should end,” she said, adding that her kids tell her she should shop for a man online. “That’s a joke with my kids. They’re always like, ‘Mommy, you need to. We need someone else besides you to look up to.”
And just for the record, Kate’s long hair is hers.
“It’s all mine. And I’m so tired of people thinking that I have extensions,” she said. “It is mine.”
