Kate Hudson Opens Up About Fiance Matt Bellamy & Getting Advice From Gwyneth Paltrow

Kate Hudson has found happiness with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, and the actress, who has been in the spotlight most of her life, said she was immediately attracted to the rocker because of his protective side.

“He was immediately very protective and, you know, watchful,” the actress told the October 2012 issue of Harper’s Bazaar of her first meeting with the Brit, backstage during a Radiohead performance at the celeb-favorite Coachella festival in the California desert.

Kate, who makes her “Glee” debut on Thursday’s Season 4 premiere (9/8c on FOX), admitted she immediately began surfing the internet after meeting the rock star.

“I Googled him right away,” she told the mag. “And it was shocking, ’cause he was like two completely different people.”

Fans of Muse know Matt is a confident, powerful rocker on stage, but Kate said he is different behind closed doors.

“I didn’t realize what I was walking into [when I first saw him on stage in Paris],” she said “I was just in awe of his ability and his talent. And then to know him on the other side of it, and how sweet and simple and loving he is…

“You know how people say that when you meet somebody you love, you feel at home?” she added of her feelings for the star.

The two – who welcomed baby Bing in July 2011 – are on their way to the altar, but Kate said they don’t feel a need to get there any time soon.

“We’ll do it eventually, but I want it to be right. I don’t want to just do it, you know what I mean?” Kate, who was previously married to rocker Chris Robinson (2000-2007), told Harper’s.

Presently, Kate is getting used to London, where she’s been spending a lot of her time with Matt. And helping her out is fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who is married to a Brit rocker – Coldplay singer Chris Martin.

“She’s been my go-to about where to get things done — grocery shopping, a good mani-pedi, you know, all that,” Kate said. “I look up to Gwyneth and how she has been in her life. She’s the real deal.”
