Kate Hudson Shoots Down Engagement Rumors & Dishes On Pregnancy: ‘I’m Just Starting To Pop!’

Despite recent reports claiming Kate Hudson is engaged to Muse rocker Matthew Bellamy (with whom she is expecting a child), the actress said not only is she not engaged, she has no plans to marry in the near future.

“No… no that I know of,” Kate answered when asked if she is engaged in an interview airing on the UK’s “Graham Norton Show” on Friday. “I don’t like putting that sort of pressure on it and I don’t feel it necessary to get married.”

The bubbly blonde, who split from former husband and Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson in 2006 after six years of marriage, said she’s learned a trip down the aisle does not guarantee happiness.

“I am 31, I already have one child, and have had one divorce,” Kate said. “So [marriage] is not necessarily the golden ticket — I just want to be happy.

“My parents have been 30 years not married,” Kate added, of her mom Goldie Hawn’s lasting relationship with her “Overboard” co-star, Kurt Russell. “So it’s not something I feel I have to do.”

Kate, who has a 7-year-old son (Ryder) from her marriage to Chris, isn’t yet sure of her soon-to-arrive baby’s sex but said it “feels like a girl.”

“I don’t know. Ryder thinks it’s a girl,” Kate said.”[Matthew and I] have a couple of names, but we’re not telling anyone.”

Kate, who was previously linked to her “You, Me & Dupree” co-star Owen Wilson, as well as New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodiguez and seven-time Tour de France champ Lance Armstrong, said she was surprised to see a noticeable difference between American men and her new British love.

“I never thought I would notice the difference but there are a lot of differences, it’s just a different way,” she said. “He is polite and kind and so sweet.”

While Matthew’s manners initially attracted the “Nine” star, it was his English accent that made Kate go weak in the knees.

“It was the phone calls that signed the deal for me – hearing his voice on the phone,” Kate said. “It was so lovely.

“He has corrected some of my use of English,” she added, jokingly.
