Kate Middleton Braves Snow To Volunteer With Cub Scouts, Impresses Group With Her ‘Very Relaxed’ Manner

Kate Middleton bundled up to volunteer with Cub Scouts in Cumbria, England in the snow on Friday and the pregnant Duchess’ low-key ways impressed her young fans.

“We just called her Kate,” Fatima Vukhari, 9 — who was present at the special training day for scout volunteers in England’s Lake District — told People. “She seems like a princess because she looks really pretty and had really nice hair.”

Adding, “She would help us with lots of things.”

Connor Childs, also 9, told the mag the 31-year-old royal was “really normal.”

Kate (who is nearly six-months pregnant) wasn’t deterred by the freezing temperature, and quickly dug her hands into bowls of sticky dough – 18-carat sapphire ring and all! — helping the group form the dough into twists to cook on sticks around a campfire.

“You could tell she enjoys volunteering … very relaxed and easy to be around,” volunteer Abid Saleh, 32, told the mag. “She made it easy.”

And the famously stylish mom-to-be (who kept it casual in skinny jeans and army green rain boots, with a matching jacket and cap) didn’t seem to mind being outdoors in the frigid, snowy weather.

“She chuckled that it could not have been much colder,” volunteer Becky Coates, 38, told People. “In 15-20 minutes, it felt like we always knew each other.”
