Kate Middleton showed off her royal voice on Monday!
The Duchess of Cambridge gave her first speech as a member of the Royal Family at the opening of the East Anglia Children’s Hospice at the Treehouse center in Ipswich, just outside of London.
“I feel hugely honored to be here to see this wonderful center,” Kate, sporting a vibrant blue Reiss belted dress and black heels, told the crowd from a podium with a smile. “I am only sorry that William can’t be here today, he would love it here.
“A view of his – that I share – is that through teamwork, so much can be achieved. What you have all achieved is extraordinary,” she continued. “Today I have seen again that the Treehouse is all about family and fun… the feelings you inspire – feelings of love and of hope – offer a chance to families to live a life they never thought could be possible.”
According to People, Kate, who wrote the speech herself, confessed to a one guest, “I find doing speeches nerve wrecking.”
During her appearance, the Duchess of Cambridge also helped plant a tree on the grounds of the hospice.
Prince William is currently deployed in the Falkland Islands.
