Kate Winslet On Leonardo DiCaprio’s Wrinkles & Bearing It All

For Kate Winslet, reuniting with Leonardo DiCaprio on screen for “Revolutionary Road,” over a decade after the release of box office topping “Titanic,” was fun for a host of reasons. But one she took particular delight in was checking out Leo’s wrinkles.

“I’m like, ‘Yes, damn it! Look at those foreheads move!’” she told Parade magazine’s November 30 issue. “I mean, he has this amazing furrow [between his brows], which wasn’t as prominent then.”

And Kate, who pointed to her own forehead squiggles during the interview, takes pride in her own age signs as well.

“I just love seeing those things. I am enjoying my face changing, as well as realizing that at the same time, as you get older, the machine isn’t as well-oiled as it was,” she said.

And just as her wrinkles don’t give her too many cares, neither do nude scenes, something Halle Berry recently raved about. Halle went so far as to compliment Winslet, saying she wanted to be “the kind of actress who can really be comfortable with my body like that.”

“That’s so amazing,” Kate told Parade about Halle’s praise. “That is worth the pain! I am thrilled to hear someone like Halle say something like that. But what I would want to say to her is, ‘Well, you can,’ because all I do is say, ‘I don’t give a ****!’”

While she’s happy to be free on film, one thing Kate cares enormously about is her children – daughter Mia with Jim Threapleton, and son Sam, with her husband, “Revolutionary Road” director Sam Mendes.

“Having children just puts the whole world into perspective,” Kate said. “Everything else just disappears. For my own children, I do want for them to look back and remember that it was me in the kitchen, that I was doing the packed lunches, that we were there on the school run, that we did take a bus. I want them to remember those things, because those are the things that I remember from my own childhood and that have been incredibly important to me.”
