Katherine Heigl Finds New ‘Life’ On Big Screen

Katherine Heigl is ready for a new “Life” on the big screen.

Heigl will star in the drama “Life As We Know It,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film follows two single people who suddenly find themselves taking care of the daughter of their best friends after the parents are killed in a car accident.

Not only will Heigl star in the film, but she will also co-executive produce, along with her mother/manager Nancy Heigl under their Abishag production company.

“Everwood” creator Greg Berlanti has signed on to direct the movie, while Barry Josephson (“Enchanted”; “Hide & Seek”) and Paul Brooks (“New In Town”; “Haunting In Connecticut”) will co-produce.

Heigl, who last appeared on the big screen in “27 Dresses,” will next be seen in the romantic comedy “The Ugly Truth,” opposite Gerard Butler.

She also recently wrapped production on the thriller “Five Killers,” alongside Ashton Kutcher and Tom Selleck.

As far as the small screen, as previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Heigl will return to her role as Izzie Stevens on “Grey’s Anatomy” next season.
