Katherine Heigl: Parent Time ‘Interferes With Sexy Time’

Katherine Heigl doesn’t mind making motherhood her top priority – even when it gets in the way of her love life.

“If parent time interferes with sexy time, that’s that,” the star told the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar, laughing and explaining that daughter Naleigh recently threw up on her intimates.

Though her child joins a Hollywood scene full of stylish babies, Katherine told the mag that Naleigh’s no fashionista yet.

“Dude, I try, but I’m not nailing the baby fashion. It’s intimidating,” she said.

While the 18-month-old child, whom Katherine and husband Josh Kelley adopted from South Korea in October 2009, has been described as a “special-needs” child, the star revealed her baby had had a heart problem which has since been surgically repaired.

“Her heart is 100 percent fine now. She has a scar, so she won’t be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us,” Katherine said. “A lot of children don’t find forever homes because they’re on that special-needs list, even if it’s because of something as simple as her mother smoked cigarettes for a month, not knowing she was pregnant. That’s not so huge that you couldn’t handle it.”

Motherhood seems to have mellowed the outspoken star, who has wrapped up her run on “Grey’s Anatomy” and has a pair of movies, this summer’s “Killers,” due June 4, and October’s “Life as We Know It,” on the way.

“I spent so many years just saying what I felt without thinking about the ramifications, without understanding that I have this opinion but not everyone might share that opinion and now they don’t like me because of it,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “That was really awkward… I was really raised with the idea that it’s important to be honest and to share your experiences, both disappointing and exhilarating… It’s lame to say that I’m a normal girl, but I think I am.”
