Katherine Jackson has said her granddaughter, Paris Jackson, is doing better following her suicide attempt in June.
“She is doing much better,” Katherine told Hello magazine, in a new interview.
Katherine, the 83-year-old matriarch of the Jackson family, said Paris’ troubles have been difficult.
“The treatment is going good, really good. She’s my baby. It’s hard for me, really hard. All I wanted [for] these kids to be is happy,” she said.
Katherine told Hello that her granddaughter has been in pain since the 2009 death of her father.
“The night Michael died Paris was crying and said, ‘I want to go and see daddy; I don’t want to be without him,’” Katherine said.
But, the teen is doing well.
“She is in a good place, getting the help she needs,” Katherine told Hello.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Paris Jackson, the 15-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, was hospitalized in early June following a suicide attempt, a source claimed to Access at the time.
A source close to the Jackson family told Access that Paris cut her wrists, but it was believed to be a “cry for help” more than a desire to take her own life.
