Katherine Jackson: ‘There’s Not A Day I Don’t Think About Michael’ – His Fans Keep Me Going

Katherine Jackson attended the premiere of Cirque Du Soleil’s new show, a tribute to son Michael Jackson, at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on Saturday.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with Access Hollywood, the Jackson family matriarch opened up about her thoughts on the show and how she’s coping with the four-year anniversary of her superstar son’s death.

“It was so amazing. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen,” Katherine told Access of “Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil.” “Very good. Very good show.”

Katherine said the impressive new show – which (as the name implies) features many of Michael’s number one hits – captured her son’s drive.

“My son was a workaholic and this show really brought it out. There was so much going on!” she said.

Michael’s sons, Prince and Blanket, were also on hand to see the show, along with many other Jackson family members.

Katherine said that all of her grandchildren sat together and enjoyed the show.

“[Prince and Blanket] weren’t [sitting] next to me – they were with their cousins, my other grandchildren,” she explained. “Some of the grandchildren I got to talk to [after the show], and they loved it.”

When asked how she felt seeing Michael’s image projected on screens during the show, Katherine said she was overcome with emotion.

“It was hard – just like it is now to talk about it,” she said. “I can’t find words to describe how I felt – it brought tears to my eyes.”

As for how she copes with losing her son, Katherine said the ongoing love from Michael’s fans helps ease her pain.

“It makes me feel good that he had so many fans, so many people cared about him, so many people loved him. That keeps me going,” she said.

“There’s not a day that I don’t think about my son. Sometimes all day,” she added. “But when I meet people in the street and they recognize me, and they tell me how much they loved him and how they’ve been a fan of his since they were little and now their children are fans, that helps.”
