It’s been a week of change for Katie Holmes.
After news broke on Friday that the actress, 33, had filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, Katie and daughter Suri, 6, were spotted moving their belongings out of the apartment the family shared in New York City to a new NYC residence, according to People.
Katie’s new place is closer to some of Suri’s favorite spots, the mag reports, including a gymnastics studio she frequents.
Additionally, TMZ reports Katie is seeking sole legal custody and primary residential custody of Suri.
The actress chose to file divorce docs in New York because New York family law judges tend to avoid giving equal parenting decision-making power to two parents whose relationship has grown contentious, according to the website.
Meanwhile, Tom remains in Iceland during the upheaval, where he is filming the sci-fi action film “Oblivion,” with co-stars Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo and “Game of Thrones” actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
