Katy Perry Adjusting To Married Life: I Still Say ‘My Boyfriend’ Sometimes

Katy Perry is living a newlywed “Teenage Dream” with her husband, Russell Brand.

Access caught up with the brunette bombshell at the 2010 American Music Awards where she dished about the changes she’s experienced since marrying the comedian in India last month.

“I think everybody feels different after they’re married,” Katy told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on the show’s red carpet on Sunday. “I think they feel completion. I feel good. I feel stress free.”

The “California Gurls” singer kept her lips sealed when it came to details of their lavish ceremony in India, saying she and the “Get Him to The Greek” actor have vowed to keep their joint new life private.

“I made a promise to [Russell] and he made a promise to me and we have to keep that promise,” Katy told Shaun. “That’s one of the things that we keep private — our relationship.

“We’ve just kind of taken a step back because we put so much of ourselves out there professionally,” she added.

While the chart-topping performer is happily adjusting to life as a married woman, there’s one old habit that she hasn’t yet been able to break.

“Are you used to saying ‘my husband’ now?” Shaun asked the pop princess.

“No, I’m not!” Katy told Shaun. “And I still say ‘my boyfriend’ sometimes. But, you know, I’m working on it. Baby steps.”
