Katy Perry Calls Darren Criss’ ‘Glee’ ‘Teenage Dream’ Performance ‘Amazing’

Katy Perry couldn’t be happier with “Glee’s” rendition of her hit, “Teenage Dream,” and new Gleek Darren Criss.

Access Hollywood caught up with the singer at the launch event for her new scent, “Purr,” on Tuesday in New York, where Katy gushed over the “Glee” newcomer.

“He’s amazing!” Katy told Access of Darren. “I love when any of my songs are remixed or interpreted differently. I just I love that, I really welcome a creative mind to anything.”

Following Darren’s “Glee” debut earlier this month, Katy Tweeted, “Oh…My…Gosh… this just brought a sweet tear to my eye! Teenage Dream on GLEE makes my heart go WEEEEE!”

Access also caught up with Darren over the weekend, where the 23-year-old actor took a very humble stance on his breakout success with the hit song.

“It’s already a killer single on the radio, Katy Perry’s version,” he told Access. “So many things stacked up where the final puzzle was this very small percentage of throwing my lucky butt in there. So, I consider myself very fortunate because I think it could have been almost anybody [that] made that song as awesome.”

He also said he’s hoping for a little face time with the “skin-tight jeans” singer.

“I like Katy a lot… never met her, but I would like to,” the young actor continued. “Katy, if you want to hang out sometime, I’ll buy you a beer. Thanks for singing a great song.”
