Katy Perry & John Mayer Debut Who You Love Video

Katy Perry and John Mayer are opening up about their lovey new video for their duet, “Who You Love.”

The music superstar couple appeared together on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, where they premiered their new video.

“I had this little chorus for years and it was, ‘You love who you love,’ and I thought that was always going to be a great thing someday,” John, 36, said of the song.

The video for the duet shows off the couple (and other couples) riding a mechanical bull in the desert and longingly singing to each other.

“The very first thought was you can’t do that and then the more I thought about just the music part of it, it made perfect sense, even if I didn’t know Katy, it would have made perfect sense,” he said. “I went in the other room [and] called her phone.”

The singer said most everything in the video just happened naturally.

“It’s just so authentic,” he continued. “There’s nothing scripted in that video except putting a bull in the middle of the desert.”

Katy, 29, gushed about working alongside her boyfriend

“John has a very gentle, authentic touch to everything he does,” she said on Tuesday.

Katy and John began dating during summer of 2012, before splitting (for the first time) in August 2012. They first began dating after her divorce from Russell Brand, which was finalized in February 2012.
