Katy Perry On Taming Russell Brand

Katy Perry has opened up about her relationship with her fiance, Russell Brand, noting he is no longer the man he once was.

The British comedian, who famously spilled details of his past conquests and sex rehab stint in his autobiography, “My Booky Wook,” has completely changed, Katy told the August edition of Esquire UK.

“He used to basically be a professional prostitute — now he’s not,” Katy told the mag. “So he’s an extremist which can be both good and bad. I always needed someone stronger than me.”

The “California Gurls” singer went on to note that she helped hook Russell by knocking him off his pedestal – literally.

“I was 25, 30 feet away from him. And I threw the bottle straight at him: hit him smack dab on the head,” she said. “Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had, when he was used to getting everything he wanted? I was like, ‘You’ve met your match.’”

Despite her religious upbringing, Katy said she and Russell found out they were two peas in a pod.

“I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I am you. You are me.’ Two divas in one house,” she said. “It’s like splitting the atom: it shouldn’t happen.”
