Katy Perry Reacts To The Citizen’s Arrest Of Fiance Russell Brand

Don’t mess with this “California Gurl.”

Katy Perry has voiced her support for fiance Russell Brand after the British comedian was subjected to a citizen’s arrest by a paparazzo on Friday at Los Angeles International Airport.

Perry took to her Twitter account Friday night, where she claimed the “Get Him to the Greek” star was protecting her against an invasive paparazzo when the incident happened.

“If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me,” she Tweeted.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Brand was taken into custody following an altercation with a paparazzo at the Los Angeles International Airport on Friday.

“About 1:50 PM… Los Angeles Airport Police responded to Terminal 5 to a report of a battery involving a celebrity and a commercial photographer (paparazzi),” read a statement released to Access by a rep from the LA Airport Police.

The public information officer confirmed that Brand was arrested by the paparazzo.

“The victim involved placed the suspect (Russell Brand) under private person’s arrest,” the statement continued. “Airport Police took the suspect into custody for Penal Code Section 242 – battery. He will be booked at the LAPD Pacific Division station.”

A rep for Brand did not respond to a request for comment from Access on Friday.
