Katy Perry Shares Her Workout Routine, Dishes On VIP Inauguration Party

Katy Perry has arguably one of the best bodies in Hollywood, so how does the pop superstar keep herself in runway shape?

Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover sat down with the “Part of Me” singer to get the skinny on her diet and workout regimen.

“I do [watch what I eat and exercise]. I’m 28 now. Your metabolism at 23, which is when I started – you can get away with a lot at 23,” she told Kit. “Once you start to almost get to 30, your body changes. So I keep that in mind.”

Burning calories is a lot easier for Katy when she’s touring.

“I’m off tour [now], and when I was on tour I was doing two-hour shows like, five nights a week, so that was keeping me really in shape,” she said.” So now I just do a lot of hiking. I’m addicted to getting my steps in, because I wear like, an arm band [pedometer].”

Getting out in the fresh air not only helps the star stay in shape, it gives her a chance to discover new music from various artists.

“When I go on hikes I try to listen to all new music. So the last hike I went on I listened to Solange [Knowles’] new record and I listened to this girl named Sky Ferreira,” she said, adding that her current favorite song is “Closer” by Tegan and Sara.

Though she’s not currently touring, Katy is still performing some pretty impressive gigs – including, most recently, at the Kids Inaugural Ball last weekend.

As an added perk, the singer – who now boasts her own flavor of Popchips (Katy’s Kettle Corn) – got to attend a secret inauguration party at the White House with President Obama.

“I feel like an A-lister for life. I don’t know if I will be, but I felt that way that weekend,” she said. “It was like crazy mind boggling, and to be invited to the White House was just like, oh my gosh!”
