Keira Knightley: My ‘Pirates’ Days ‘May Be Over’

“The Duchess” star Keira Knightley is unlikely to be revisiting her role of Elizabeth Swann in the popular franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean” any time soon, Access Hollywood has learned.

Access caught up with Keira at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend, where she was attending the premiere of her new film, “The Duchess.”

But when asked about whether or not she would participate if she was asked to do another “Pirates of the Caribbean” film, the British beauty gave a surprising answer.

“I think it was wonderful and an amazing opportunity and those films were just extraordinary and I was extremely lucky to be a part of them,” Keira told Access. “But no. I think my pirating days may be over.”

Keira has played Elizabeth Swann alongside Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner character and Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow for all three of the successful franchise films, which included, “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” and the last installment “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.”

“The Duchess” opens in theaters on September 19, 2008.
