Kelly Clarkson: I Want A Baby For Christmas

Kelly Clarkson has found her true love and she’s wasting no time moving forward.

The “Tie It Up” singer, who will soon marry fiance Brandon Blackstock, told Access Hollywood she already knows what she wants for Christmas – a little one!

“We’re getting married soon – like really soon – and I already told him that when we’re past the wedding, I want a baby. I was like, ‘That’s my Christmas present that you can give me,’” the 31-year-old singer – whose first Christmas album, “Wrapped In Red,” drops later this month – told Access in a new interview.

Since the pair started dating in early 2012, Kelly’s been getting a lot of good mommy practice while getting to know Brandon’s two kids (from a previous a marriage) – and she’s loved every minute of it.

“I love doing homework with them. I love just the whole thing. It can get overwhelming for every parent, especially with your schedules when you’re working and stuff. But, at the end of the day, it’s so much fun just to come home,” she said, before explaining how being involved in the kids’ lives has changed her. “I’ve never worried about other people. I’ve always been really selfish. It’s like, you worry about other people now. It’s the whole thing.

“I’m totally about the cry in this interview – God! Shoot!” she added.

While she and Brandon (Reba McEntire’s stepson and a talent manager to stars including Blake Shelton) had initially planned on a large ceremony, they recently decided to elope, but will share part of their experience with fans.

“We’re just taking the kids and we’re bringing our videographer [who] goes on the road with me, and our photographer,” she said. “We’re going to make a little video for our family and friends and then also like a mini little thing that we’ll show the fans online and stuff.

“I don’t mind sharing it, but the actual moment of when we get married I would like to be ours,” she continued. “And then we’ll share it, ‘cause I know fans are like, ‘You’ve got to show pictures!’ and I’m totally cool with that.”

And Kelly’s already consulting her fellow superstars who have had children about what it’s like to travel with a baby.

“I ask girls [how they balance motherhood and career] all that time, like Hilary Scott, the girl in Lady Antebellum, one of my friends, she was preggers, and I was asking her everything. I was like, ‘So, can you work while you’re pregnant?’” Kelly said. “I was sitting there just completely bombarding her with preggers questions. You can do it, you can. She said, ‘Man, when you get tired, you just have to tell people to stop.’”

Adding, “So, I’ll tell people. I won’t have any problem doing that. I’ll be like, ‘I’ve got to take a break.’”

As for her new Christmas album, Kelly said meeting Brandon has changed her favorite holiday for the better and inspired a few original songs on the new record.

“The one titled ‘Winter Dreams: Brandon’s Song’ would be one. What was the first hint?” she joked. “No, that one’s definitely about him. Honestly, I wrote ‘Every Christmas’ which was another song on the Christmas album. It was the first song I wrote on the Christmas album with my guitarist, and I wrote it about just my whole life, how every Christmas, I was just like, ‘This is going to be different, right? I’m going to actually find someone and not be pathetically alone for the rest of my life?’

“So, I wrote it about those deep emotions that you go through during that time, when it’s supposed to be a happy time, but you’re just like, OK, every Christmas, I keep thinking it’s going to change, and it doesn’t,” she continued. “Then ‘Winter Dreams: Brandon’s Song’ is kind of after we were together and we got engaged. Christmas changes, it morphs, it comes to life a little more… It’s just a happier time.”

Kelly’s “Wrapped In Red” will hit stores on October 29.
