Kerry Washington Announces ‘Break’ From Social Media: ‘I’ll Be Back Soon Enough’

Kerry
Washington is ready to take some time off.

The
“Scandal” star and mom-to-be announced a “teeny” hiatus
from social media on Tuesday, telling her Instagram and Twitter followers that
she’s “feeling called to be a bit more quiet.”

Sharing a
peaceful seaside video of a heart carved into sand washing away with the tide,
Kerry assured fans that she’ll “be back soon enough,” but doesn’t
know how long she’ll be away from the digital landscape.

“This space has become such a community. I’m very grateful. Thank

added.

Kerry’s post coincided with ABC’s Upfront
presentation in New York City, where it was announced that “Scandal”
would make a midseason return next year instead of premiering in the fall.

According to
Variety, the schedule change was made to accommodate Kerry’s second pregnancy.

While the
actress has yet to publicly address her baby news, she did appear to cradle her
growing bump while posing for photos at the Met Gala earlier this month.

It’s
not the first timeScandal has altered
its timetable. The hit political drama cut four episodes from Season 3 when
Kerry was expecting her first child, now 2-year-old daughter Isabelle.
