Kerry Washington Is ‘Huge Eminem Fan’; Excited To Go To SNL Comedy Camp

Kerry Washington is thrilled about her upcoming debut as host of “Saturday Night Live.”

“I’m really, really excited! I’m very excited,” the “Scandal” star told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson in a new interview. “I feel like I’m getting to wear a lot of my different hats right now.”

The Emmy-nominated actress – who was recently chosen to be a Creative Consultant for Neutrogena (Access was with Kerry as she spent her first day “on the job” for the beauty company) – said she’s grateful to be able to take a break from Olivia Pope’s drama and try her hand at comedy.

“It’s fun that I get to be smart Kerry here and silly Kerry there,” she said, adding that she doesn’t have any info regarding what types of sketches her episode will include. “I feel like I’m going to comedy camp for a week. So I won’t be able to tell you anything until I get there.”

Something the actress is sure about is her excitement over which musical guest will share the Studio 8H stage with her – Eminem.

“I’m so excited – it’s true! I’m a huge Eminem fan,” she said. “So, that’s going to be big for me personally.”

And Kerry’s on-screen love, “Scandal” star Tony Goldwyn, will be tuning in to watch his co-star’s “SNL” debut.

In an interview with Access on Thursday evening, the actor, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on the ABC show, said Kerry is “hilarious.”

“You know, she plays a more serious character on TV, but Kerry is the first one on our show to be creating mayhem,” he added. “So, she’s gonna be great.”

Watch Kerry and Eminem on “Saturday Night Live” – November 2 at 11:30 PM on NBC.
