Kick Start Your Spring Style!

GLAM SLAM

I am wearing white jeans as I write today’s Glam Slam and I may be jumping the gun a little since it’s not officially spring yet, but the nice weather we’ve been having here has me itching to ditch the winter wardrobe entirely.

If you’re ready to kick start your spring style too, People StyleWatch offers a few stylish new trends to try.

Every good wardrobe starts with shoes! For Spring shoes, try pointy flats, slingback mules, strappy heels with laces and modern heels in chunky wood styles. “It’s all about shoe details this season,” says Kate Dimmock, fashion director, People StyleWatch. “Try a bold pattern or a fun cut-out for a fresh approach to spring.”

Trends in bags include classic shapes and fun colors. “Try a white bag this season,” says Dimmock. “You will get so much wear out of it by summer, so it’s a great investment.” (Check out Selena Gomez, pictured, for inspiration)

Denim trends for spring include pencil skirts, boyfriend jeans and distressed (like Miranda Kerr, above). “Denim is an important wardrobe staple every season,” says Dimmock. For spring, try out softer colors and pale blues for an updated look. “Experiment with your style with denim. It’s easy!”

Trends in beauty include eye shades that play up your true shade.“If you have blue eyes, try rose gold or earthy neutrals for a light touch that won’t overpower,” says Dimmock. Hazel eyes: try shades of green and purple that can intensify your look. For brown eyes, try jewel tones or smoky gray for more richness and depth.
