Kid Rock Tops Charts: ‘Welcome to Haterville, Population You’

As it turns out “Rock n’ Roll Jesus,” is indeed Kid Rock’s savior as the rip roaring record brought the Detroit rocker to the top of the album charts this week.

“I want to thank [my manager] Punch Andrews for his guidance, friendship, and hard work throughout my career. This couldn’t have happened without him,” Kid Rock said in a statement. ” And to my fans, for once again giving me a great excuse to throw a big party. I look forward to celebrating with them soon. And to everyone else, welcome to Haterville, population YOU.”

Last week’s charter topper, Bruce Springsteen’s “Magic” fell into second place, while Rascal Flatt’s “Still Feels Good,” slipped to number three.

LeAnne Rimes found herself with a hearty number four on the charts with her album “Family.” The other new entry into the top ten this week was Sara Evans’ “Greatest Hits” which landed at number eight.

Over on the digital side, Soulja Boy remained strong, with “Tell ‘Em” riding to the top of the digital singles chart for the second week in a row. Super-producer Timbaland made some headway, moving from a fourth place finish last week into the number two slot with “Apologize.”

Apparently fans wanted a little less of Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” as the pop single dropped one place to number three. Kanye West also lost his footing with “Stronger” which fell to number four.
