Kirsten Dunst is finally discussing her 2008 stint in rehab, a topic upon which she has remained mum to date. The “Spider-Man” actress told Blackbook magazine in its December 2010/January 2011 issue that her time in rehab, during which she sought treatment for depression, was most difficult for her loved ones.
“My friends and family were put in a position where they had to defend me,” the 28-year-old actress stated. “It was an awful time.”
“On a personal level, I would talk to anybody about it, but not on a public level. If I do that, then the next person feels like they can ask me about it, and the person after that, until everyone then feels entitled to ask me about it, and that’s not coming from a good place,” she continued.
When it comes to the occasional wild night, the actress makes no apologies.

“When you’re a single girl in your twenties, yeah, you go out with your friends,” she told the mag. “And sometimes you drink too much. I don’t know anybody else, with any type of job, who doesn’t do that.”
Kirsten can currently be seen on the big screen in “All The Good Things” with Ryan Gosling and has been cast alongside Kristen Stewart and “TRON: Legacy’s” Garrett Hedlund in the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s “On The Road” – slated for a 2011 release.
